Payment Terms

Accepted Payment Methods
Tanqory supports a variety of payment methods to make transactions convenient. We accept major credit and debit cards, including Visa and Mastercard, for all purchases. In addition, we support popular digital payment platforms and wallets such as PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All payment methods must be valid and authorized for recurring charges (if applicable) to ensure uninterrupted service.
Billing Entity and Payment Routing
For new subscriptions, add-ons, and other recurring or one-time charges initiated on or after 4 June 2026, the contracting party that bills you and issues the invoice is Tanqory Inc. (a Delaware C-corporation; Delaware State File Number 10374166; EIN 37-2212745; address 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, USA), settling via the Tanqory Inc. Stripe (US) account into a Tanqory Inc. operating bank account at Column N.A. (Member FDIC), serviced through Mercury Technologies, Inc.
For legacy billing relationships that began before 4 June 2026 and that remain on the Singapore Stripe account, the contracting party that bills you and issues the invoice is TANQORY PTE. LTD. (UEN 202448997H, 160 Robinson Road, #14-04, Singapore Business Federation Centre, Singapore 068914). These legacy invoices are retained for continuity and are not migrated automatically.
For non-billing matters (Terms of Service, Acceptable Use, IP licensing, theme/partner programs, etc.) the global default contracting party is Tanqory Inc. unless a specific document or signed Order Form designates otherwise.
The canonical reference for billing-entity routing is _compliance/sources-of-truth/10-pricing.yaml#contracting_entity; the canonical reference for the operating bank is _compliance/sources-of-truth/11-banking.yaml. Where this paragraph and the canonical conflict, the canonical governs.
Payment Processors and Fees
We partner with reputable third-party payment processors to handle your transactions securely. The current production processors are Stripe (primary card processor), PayPal, and Braintree. By using Tanqory’s services, you agree that processing of payments may be performed by these external providers under their terms. Transaction Fees: Any processing fees or transaction charges imposed by your chosen payment method or our payment processor are the responsibility of the user. This means that Tanqory collects the net amount due for our services, and you are responsible for any additional fees (such as currency conversion fees or bank charges) required to complete the payment. Tanqory does not add surcharges on our side for specific payment methods, but we also do not cover fees that your bank or payment provider may charge.
Billing Schedule and Auto-Charge
Immediate Charges: Tanqory operates on an automatic billing system. When your billing date arrives (for subscription services or recurring charges), our system will charge the due amount to your saved payment method immediately, without prior notification. There is no advance reminder email or alert before we charge your card; charges occur on the designated billing due date as a standard practice. You will receive an invoice or payment confirmation after the charge is processed, sent to your registered email and available on your account dashboard. This invoice details the amount charged and the date of charge for your records.
Failed or Late Payments: If we are unable to successfully process a payment on the billing date (for example, due to an expired card, insufficient funds, or any error), you are still responsible for settling that payment promptly. Tanqory reserves the right to suspend your account or services in the event of late payment or payment failure. In practice, this means your access to the Tanqory services may be temporarily halted until the owed amount is paid in full. We may attempt to charge your payment method again after a failure; however, if the payment remains unsuccessful or overdue beyond a reasonable grace period, the suspension will continue. If an outstanding invoice remains unpaid for an extended period (for example, 28 days or more), Tanqory may escalate the matter by further suspending or eventually terminating the account in accordance with our Terms of Service. Reactivation of a suspended account is possible once you have paid all outstanding fees, including any applicable late charges for the next billing cycle if the reactivation occurs on a subsequent billing date.
Renewal Notices & Easy Cancellation: For plans with renewal periods ≥ 6 months (including annual), we will send a renewal reminder to your registered email in advance of the renewal date where required by law (e.g., California ARL, EU/UK consumer rules). You can cancel at any time via the same ease as signup (self-service account/billing page); if you cancel before the renewal date, no further renewal charges will occur. A post-signup acknowledgment email summarizing key billing terms is provided to meet “negative option” and automatic-renewal notice requirements.
Currency and Taxes
All pricing and billing by Tanqory are done primarily in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise specified. By default, charges to your payment method will be in USD and you are responsible for any currency conversion if your account operates in another currency.
Tax Calculation: Tanqory will calculate and collect any applicable taxes on your subscription or purchase. This includes, but is not limited to, Value Added Tax (VAT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), or other sales taxes as required by your local jurisdiction. These taxes are computed based on the billing information (such as your billing address) you provide, and they will be added on top of the base prices of Tanqory services. Tanqory is responsible for remitting the collected taxes to the appropriate authorities where required by law, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations. For example, if VAT is applicable to your purchase, Tanqory will display the VAT amount at checkout, charge it, and handle the filing/remittance of that VAT to the government. All fees and charges you see from Tanqory are typically listed exclusive of taxes, with taxes added as a separate line item during payment processing.
Receipts and Invoices: Tanqory provides documentation for each transaction for your records. After each successful payment, a receipt/invoice is automatically generated. This receipt will be sent to the email address associated with your Tanqory account and will also be available in your account’s billing management section online. The invoice will show details such as the date of charge, the amount paid (with any taxes clearly itemized), and the service period or items covered by the payment. Please ensure your contact information and email are kept up to date in our system to receive these receipts. If you have any billing disputes or questions, you should contact us within a reasonable time (we recommend within two weeks of the charge, similar to industry standards ) so we can address any issues.
Refund Policy
Payments made to Tanqory are generally non-refundable. This policy is in line with our Subscription Billing Terms and any standalone Refund Policy documentation provided. Once a charge has been processed for a subscription period or service, we do not typically offer refunds for unused time or services not taken, except in extraordinary circumstances or where required by law. For instance, if you cancel a subscription mid-term, the cancellation will stop future billing but the current term payment is not refunded (you will retain access for the remainder of the paid term). We strongly encourage you to use free trials or monthly plans to evaluate the service before committing to longer-term prepaid plans, as those may not be eligible for pro-rated refunds.
If a refund is explicitly granted (for example, as a courtesy or due to a billing error or under a money-back guarantee promotion), any transaction fees or costs incurred from the payment gateway are not returned to Tanqory by the processor and therefore will be deducted from the refunded amount or charged to the customer. In other words, the customer will bear the cost of non-refundable processing fees associated with the original payment. For example, many payment providers (like Stripe or PayPal) do not return the processing fee when a transaction is refunded; if you paid $100 and the processing fee was $3, the provider might keep that $3 fee when we issue a refund. In such a case, Tanqory will refund you $97 (the net amount after the fee), unless stated otherwise. All refunds are processed back to the original payment method whenever possible. Please allow a reasonable time for the refunded amount to appear on your bank or card statement, as each financial institution’s processing times may vary.
In cases of chargebacks or payment disputes initiated with your bank, Tanqory reserves the right to dispute the chargeback and to suspend your account during the dispute process to prevent further service usage until the issue is resolved. Misuse of chargeback mechanisms (e.g., filing unwarranted disputes) may be treated as a violation of these Payment Terms.
(For full details, refer to our detailed Refund Policy document, which is considered a part of these Payment Terms.)
Consumer withdrawal (EU/UK where applicable): If you are a consumer in the EU/UK, you may have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services. You acknowledge that service may begin immediately; if you request immediate performance, you may lose the withdrawal right once full performance has begun. Where law requires, we will honor statutory withdrawals and calculate any refunds in line with those rules.
Chargeback fees: Card networks/processors may assess a chargeback/dispute fee per case (often USD $15–$30 or local equivalent). If a chargeback is unwarranted, you agree that Tanqory may pass through such non-refundable network/processor fees.
Fraud Detection and Payment Security
Tanqory takes the security of transactions seriously and has measures in place to prevent fraudulent or unauthorized payments. We reserve the right to decline or hold any payment transaction that is flagged by our system as suspicious or potentially fraudulent. Specifically, if we detect behavior or payment patterns that suggest fraud, abuse, or violation of our terms, Tanqory may suspend the payment or your account while we investigate. We may also require additional verification from you (such as confirming a small authorization charge, providing identification, etc.) before letting a transaction proceed in some cases.
Tanqory reserves the right to refuse or cancel any payment and/or order if we believe, in our sole discretion, that the transaction is unauthorized, made using a stolen payment method, involves fraudulent activity, or otherwise violates our Terms of Service or these Payment Terms. This step is taken to protect both the customer and Tanqory from fraud and other malicious activities. For example, if there’s a sudden change in the location of charges or a very high-value purchase that triggers our internal alerts, we might pause the transaction and reach out to you for confirmation.
All payments processed by Tanqory’s platform are encrypted and compliant with industry security standards. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) or equivalent encryption technologies to protect your card data during transmission. Tanqory itself does not store full credit card numbers on our servers; sensitive payment details are stored with our PCI-DSS compliant payment processors for your safety. Our internal fraud prevention system, along with the fraud detection tools provided by our payment processors, continuously monitors transactions for anomalies. If any payment is identified as high-risk, it may be automatically declined or subjected to manual review.
In the event we must suspend your account due to suspected fraud, any pending orders or services will also be placed on hold. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you (via your registered email) to resolve such issues. However, if fraud or abuse is confirmed, Tanqory is under no obligation to reinstate the service or may require upfront payments or other assurances before continuing service.
Region-Specific Compliance and Annexes
Tanqory serves a global customer base. As such, different laws and regulations may apply to our payment processes depending on the customer’s country or region. These Payment Terms are designed to be consistent with international best practices, but additional region-specific terms may apply for certain jurisdictions. Tanqory provides annexes or addendums to these Payment Terms for specific countries/regions to address local legal requirements. Below is a summary of regions with special provisions:
European Union (EU): Tanqory complies with the EU’s Payment Services Directive (PSD2) and related regulations. This includes implementing Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) for electronic payments, as required in the European Economic Area. Customers in the EU may be required to complete two-factor authentication (e.g., 3-D Secure verification) when subscribing or making payments, in order to meet SCA standards. We also support payment methods common in the EU, such as SEPA direct debits, where applicable. Tanqory handles Value Added Tax (VAT) according to EU rules, including providing VAT-compliant invoices and honoring the unconditional right of refund for certain direct debit payments in euros, as mandated by PSD2. (See the EU Annex for details on PSD2, consumer rights, and data protection compliance.)
United Kingdom (UK): The UK’s payment regulations closely mirror the EU PSD2 requirements, and Tanqory adheres to them. We implement Strong Customer Authentication for UK customers (noting that the UK’s FCA implementation of SCA became fully enforced by March 14, 2022, after an extended timeline). We also comply with UK consumer protection laws regarding recurring payments and cancellations. Any charges will include UK VAT where applicable, and Tanqory will issue invoices compliant with HMRC requirements. (Refer to the UK Annex for any specific differences post-Brexit, though broadly the standards are equivalent to the EU’s.)
United States (US): Tanqory follows all relevant U.S. laws and regulations for billing and payments. This includes compliance with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on subscription billing and “negative option” services. For example, U.S. law (and FTC rules) require that we obtain your express informed consent for any recurring subscription charges and that cancellation of subscriptions is made easy (the FTC’s new “Click-to-Cancel” rule). Tanqory’s processes are designed to meet these requirements – during signup we clearly disclose billing terms and obtain your agreement to auto-renewal charges, and you can cancel online at any time without undue hurdles. We also adhere to any applicable state laws, such as California’s Automatic Renewal Law which mandates clear disclosure of auto-renewing subscription terms and advance notice of certain renewals. Sales tax is applied as required on a state-by-state basis (e.g., Tanqory will collect state sales tax for customers in states where digital services are taxable). (See the US Annex for details on FTC requirements, state laws like California’s, and how Tanqory implements compliant practices.)
Canada: Tanqory complies with Canadian laws regarding e-commerce and consumer protection. Charges to Canadian customers will have Goods and Services Tax (GST) or Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) applied as appropriate for the province of residence. We follow Canadian anti-spam laws (CASL) for any billing-related communications. In terms of subscriptions, we align with Canadian federal and provincial requirements for clear disclosure of terms and easy cancellation for consumers. (Refer to the Canada Annex for any province-specific notes and tax details.)
Brazil: Brazilian customers are protected by the strong provisions of the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code. Tanqory’s practices in Brazil adhere to these protections, ensuring transparency in billing and the right to cancel subscriptions as allowed by local law. Prices for Brazil may be shown in Brazilian Real (BRL) and include any applicable taxes (such as ICMS or ISS) as required. We also comply with local regulations on payment methods (including acceptance of domestic credit cards or boleto bancário where feasible). Refunds for Brazilian consumers will be handled in accordance with local consumer law (which may allow withdrawals from online purchases within a certain period). (See the Brazil Annex for detailed consumer rights and tax handling in Brazil.)
Singapore: Tanqory abides by the regulations set forth by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and other Singaporean laws for payment services. Singapore customers will be charged in USD (or SGD if specified) and 9% GST will be applied to digital services provided to Singapore at the prevailing rate set by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) (rate history: 7% through 31 December 2022, 8% from 1 January 2023, 9% from 1 January 2024). We ensure compliance with any requirements for secure transactions under Singapore’s Payment Services Act. (Refer to the Singapore Annex for details on MAS regulations and our license/exemption status if applicable.)
Japan: For customers in Japan, Tanqory follows relevant Japanese laws such as the Installment Sales Act and consumer contract law regarding continuous services. We charge consumption tax (10%) on our services to Japanese customers as required. Recurring charges are handled in accordance with credit card guidelines in Japan, and we provide information in a clear manner to users. (See the Japan Annex for any required translations or additional notices required under Japanese law, and how to contact our local representative if needed.)
South Korea: Tanqory complies with South Korea’s Electronic Financial Transactions Act and consumer protection regulations for online services. Prices for Korean users will include VAT (currently 10%) on digital services. We abide by requirements to provide purchase receipts (현금영수증 or 카드전표 as applicable) upon request for Korean customers. Additionally, our subscription terms ensure compliance with Korea’s auto-renewal and cancellation policies to protect consumers. (Refer to the Korea Annex for details, including any localization of terms.)
India: For India, Tanqory adheres to guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regarding recurring transactions. Notably, RBI regulations may require an electronic mandate with additional authentication (e.g., OTP verification) for recurring card charges above certain amounts. Tanqory’s payment process for Indian customers is designed to comply with these rules, which might mean that automatic charges are preceded by a notification or require a one-time setup of an e-mandate. All charges to Indian customers will be in USD (or INR if specified in the future) and are exclusive of GST; however, since Tanqory is an overseas entity, Indian customers may be responsible for applicable taxes under the reverse charge mechanism if any. (Details are provided in the India Annex, including how we comply with RBI e-mandate regulations and the Indian IT Act for data security.)
China: Customers in China are subject to Chinese laws and regulations on foreign online services and payments. Tanqory may not support all local Chinese payment methods at this time (such as Alipay/WeChat Pay) unless explicitly offered. If paying by international card, charges will be in USD and you are responsible for any currency conversion fees. We comply with Chinese tax regulations by including VAT where required for electronically supplied services to China. Note that cross-border transactions might be subject to China’s foreign exchange and e-commerce import regulations. (See the China Annex for any specific limitations or legal considerations for Chinese users.)
Australia: Australian consumers are protected under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), and Tanqory’s terms reflect those protections. We charge 10% GST on services provided to Australian customers and remit it under Australia’s GST on imported services rules. Tanqory’s subscription practices comply with requirements to clearly disclose terms and obtain consent, as well as to provide easy cancellation, aligning with the expectations of ACL and any specific telecom/service provider regulations. (See the Australia Annex for more information on Australian consumer rights and our GST registration details.)
Note: The above summaries are provided for convenience. If you are located in one of the regions listed, please refer to the full annex for your region, which is incorporated into these Payment Terms. In the event of any conflict between the region-specific annex and the general Payment Terms, the provisions in the annex for your region will take precedence for users in that region. Our goal is to ensure full compliance with local laws while maintaining consistent service standards worldwide.
PSD2/SCA and SEPA pre-notification: For EU/UK card payments we will apply SCA/3DS as required; for SEPA direct debit we will provide the legally required pre-notification period unless a shorter period is agreed, and will flag recurring payments as MIT/recurring where applicable.
Relationship to Other Agreements and Policies
These Payment Terms are a part of Tanqory’s overall Terms of Service framework. By agreeing to Tanqory’s Terms of Service, you are also agreeing to abide by these Payment Terms (and vice versa, agreeing to Payment Terms is a condition of using the service). In practical terms, this document should be read in conjunction with our main Terms of Service. If there is any direct conflict between the Payment Terms and the general Terms of Service, usually the more specific provision (often found in these Payment Terms or a regional annex) will apply to matters of payments.
Additionally, these Payment Terms work alongside several other policy documents:
Refund Policy: As mentioned, our Refund Policy is closely tied to the Payment Terms, detailing the circumstances (if any) under which refunds are given. The Payment Terms and Refund Policy together cover the financial relationship with customers.
Tax Policy: Any dedicated Tax Policy document (if provided separately) elaborates on Tanqory’s handling of taxes like VAT, GST, etc., and should be considered part of these Payment Terms by reference.
Service Level Agreement (SLA): If your subscription includes an SLA (typically for enterprise clients), financial remedies or credits for downtime might be covered. Those aspects are financial in nature and thus intersect with Payment Terms (for example, an SLA credit might be applied to a future invoice).
Privacy/Notice at Collection: Please see our Privacy Policy and any applicable Notice at Collection for information on what personal data is collected in the billing flow, purposes, and your rights (including Do Not Sell/Share where applicable).
We have designed these Payment Terms to be HTML-ready and user-friendly, similar to our other policy documents. They contain clear section headings, bullet points, and accessible language for ease of reading online. On our website or app, you might find the Payment Terms accessible via a link in the checkout flow or in the account settings/billing section. They may also be attached as an appendix to the main Terms of Service in PDF or web form. We encourage you to review all relevant documents (Terms of Service, Payment Terms, Refund Policy, etc.) together, as they collectively govern your use of Tanqory’s services.
Updates and notices
We may update these Payment Terms to reflect legal, security, or product changes. Material updates will be posted on https://legal.tanqory.com with the effective date/version and, where required or appropriate, announced via email or in-product dashboard notice before they take effect. Continuing to use the services after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the services before it takes effect; mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

B2B (Enterprise) Payment Structures
These Payment Terms predominantly address self-service customers — individual users or small businesses who sign up online and pay Tanqory via the standard methods (credit card or other instant electronic payments). Enterprise clients or organizations that engage Tanqory under a separate negotiated contract may have different payment arrangements. For example, an enterprise customer might have a contract allowing payment by invoice (Net 30 terms) instead of automatic card charges. “Net 30” means payment is due within 30 days from the invoice date, and such terms are usually extended to business clients who undergo a credit approval process. In cases where Tanqory has approved invoice billing for a client, the payment due date and any grace period will be specified in the contract or on the invoice, and the client is expected to pay via bank transfer or other agreed method by that date.
Enterprise agreements may also outline custom terms such as purchase order requirements, specific currencies, or bulk prepayments. Any special payment terms agreed in a signed contract with Tanqory (such as a Master Services Agreement or Enterprise Subscription Agreement) will supersede the general Payment Terms outlined here, to the extent there is a conflict. For instance, if the enterprise contract states that payment is due within 45 days of invoice and allows payment in a local currency, that would override the standard requirement of immediate payment in USD for that client.
However, unless explicitly modified in an enterprise contract, the core principles of these Payment Terms still apply to enterprise clients. This includes sections on taxes (enterprise clients will also have taxes applied to their invoices), refund policy (enterprise contracts often have no-refund clauses similar to our standard policy unless negotiated otherwise), and fraud prevention (we still require payments to be legitimate and reserve rights to address non-payment or suspicious activity for enterprise accounts). Enterprise clients are also subject to account suspension or termination for non-payment, though typically we will engage in a more formal collections process as defined in the contract.
If you are an enterprise or B2B client and have questions about which terms apply, please refer to your specific contract with Tanqory and the incorporated policies. You can also reach out to your account manager or Tanqory’s billing department for clarification. We strive to maintain consistency and fairness in how we handle payments across all client types, while also offering the flexibility enterprises might need in their billing processes.
Late Payment Penalties
Timely payment is important to ensure continued access to Tanqory services. If payments are not made on time, Tanqory reserves the right to impose late payment penalties in order to incentivize prompt payment and cover any costs associated with collection. The form of late payment penalty may vary depending on your customer category (self-service vs. enterprise) and the applicable law in your region:
Interest on Overdue Invoices: For invoice-based payments (typically for enterprise clients or special arrangements), any amount not paid by the due date may accrue interest. Unless a different rate is specified in your contract or invoice, the standard interest charge will be 1.5% per month (which is approximately 18% per annum) on the overdue balance. This interest is calculated daily from the date the payment was due until the date it is received by Tanqory. For example, if an invoice was due on January 1 and you pay it on February 1, that invoice was 30 days late and would incur roughly 1.5% of the invoice amount as a late fee. Some jurisdictions have legal limits on interest rates for late payments; Tanqory will adhere to those limits, and if 1.5% per month exceeds the legal maximum, we will apply the highest rate allowed by law instead.
Flat Late Fees: In some cases (or in some regions), Tanqory may charge a one-time flat late fee for overdue amounts, either in lieu of or in addition to interest. For instance, the terms might specify a fixed fee (e.g., $25 or a certain percentage of the invoice) if a payment is more than a certain number of days late. Any such fee will be disclosed on the invoice or in the specific service agreement.
Suspension and Collection: As noted in the Billing Schedule section, if your payment is significantly late, your account may be suspended. We typically send reminders for overdue payments (e.g., email notices of outstanding invoices) before taking further action. If an invoice remains unpaid well past its due date (e.g., over 30 days overdue), Tanqory may refer the matter to a collections agency or pursue legal action to recover the owed amount, in addition to charging any late fees. You may also be responsible for any reasonable costs of collection (such as attorney’s fees or collection agency fees) as permitted by law, if it gets to that stage.
Reconnection Fees: If your account was suspended for non-payment and you later settle the balance, Tanqory reserves the right to charge a reconnection or reactivation fee to restore service. This fee (if applied) covers the administrative effort to suspend and reactivate the account.
We base our late payment policies on common business practices and examples from industry leaders. For instance, it’s common in B2B arrangements to see terms like “Invoices outstanding for over 30 days are subject to a 1.5% per month late payment penalty.” Tanqory’s approach is aligned with such standards. We aim to be fair and reasonable: our goal is not to profit from late fees, but to encourage on-time payments and cover the extra costs and risks that late payments create for our business.
Where any local law caps interest/late fees (usury or consumer cap), the lower statutory cap applies.
