Gift Card Terms and Conditions
On this page
1) Issuer, scope, and acceptance
Gift cards are issued by authorized providers on behalf of Tanqory Inc. (“Tanqory”) for purchasing eligible goods/services on the Tanqory platform and participating stores. Purchasing, receiving, transferring, or using a card constitutes acceptance of these terms. Cards are digital assets usable only in the countries/regions designated by Tanqory and are subject to local laws (including gift card/e‑money rules, mandatory cash‑out rights, and consumer protection laws). If law requires stronger protections, those prevail. If a third‑party issuer/processor is used, Tanqory will publish the official name/address/license in Appendix C and on the purchase/related terms page (including any stored-value or e‑money license where required). Tanqory may limit sales/redemption channels to prevent fraud and may require identity verification (KYC) for high‑value purchases/use or in certain countries.
2) Purchase, activation, and limits
Cards may be purchased only via Tanqory’s website/app or authorized channels. Activation is complete when payment succeeds and the card/PIN is delivered securely. Standard load limits: minimum USD 10 and maximum USD 1,000 per card (or local currency equivalent). Tanqory may set daily/monthly purchase, holding, or redemption caps to comply with AML/CTF rules. Wholesale or resale requires written approval. Tanqory may request additional information (e.g., ID documents or source‑of‑funds proof) for high‑value or unusual transactions and reserves the right to refuse/cancel orders that violate regulations.
3) Redemption, balance checks, and fees
Cards pay for eligible goods/services on the designated platform and cannot be used to buy other gift cards or prohibited items (e.g., illegal/restricted goods). They may be combined with other payment methods if the balance is insufficient. Cardholders can check balances via the website/app or support (with reasonable identity verification). Cards have no expiry and no issuance/usage/inactivity fees unless allowed by law and explicitly stated. FX, if applicable, follows the payment processor’s rate at transaction time. Tanqory may block unusual or over‑limit transactions to mitigate risk and may request more information before approving certain redemptions.
- Cash-out (where legally required): Some jurisdictions require partial cash-outs at low balances. See Appendix A for thresholds. To request, contact support with card proof and ID; Tanqory/issuer will process within the legally required timeframe. Where cash-out is optional, processing may include reasonable verification and fees only if permitted by law.
- Non-reloadable/transfer limits: Cards are not reloadable unless explicitly offered; transfers or resale are prohibited except as allowed by law or explicit program terms.
4) Prohibited uses and restrictions
Cards cannot be redeemed for cash or converted to cash except where required by law (e.g., certain state/country cash‑out rights). No speculative resale, unauthorized transfer, money laundering, fraud, or use for prohibited activities (e.g., illegal gambling, controlled goods, weapons, narcotics). Tanqory may refuse/cancel unusual, risky, or non‑compliant purchases/redemptions. Use must follow the Acceptable Use terms and applicable partner‑store rules. If misuse or illegality is detected, Tanqory may suspend the card, confiscate or return balances as permitted by law, and/or report to authorities.
5) Risk, loss, and unauthorized use
Gift cards function like digital cash. Keep card/PIN secure and do not share. Tanqory is not responsible for theft, loss, or unauthorized use after delivery unless required by law. For suspected misuse, contact support immediately. Tanqory may suspend and, at its discretion, issue a replacement for verified balances, subject to ID/proof and reasonable fees. Verify correct URLs/emails to avoid phishing and do not buy cards from unauthorized sellers.
6) Returns/refunds and card impact
Gift card purchases are generally non‑cancelable and non‑refundable unless required by consumer law. Cards bought from unauthorized channels, lost, stolen, or suspended for violations are not refundable/transferable. Returns of purchases paid with a gift card are credited back to the card (or a new card) per the merchant’s return policy. Tanqory is not responsible for returns handled by partner stores; cardholders must contact the store directly for product/service disputes.
- Lost/stolen/unauthorized use: Treat cards like cash. Tanqory/issuer is not liable for loss/unauthorized use after delivery except where law mandates. For suspected compromise, notify support promptly; Tanqory may suspend and, at its discretion, replace remaining verified balances subject to ID and reasonable fees if permitted.
- Disputes/chargebacks: Billing disputes for purchases made with cards must be raised with the merchant or via support promptly with evidence. Timelines follow applicable payment/consumer rules. Unauthorized issuance charges should be reported immediately for investigation and potential reversal per law. Tanqory’s aggregate liability for any claim is capped to the card face value or the amount loaded/remaining, unless law requires more.
7) Fraud prevention and legal measures
Tanqory uses fraud controls (transaction checks, limits, identity verification, temporary/permanent account holds). If terms or laws are breached (e.g., AML/CTF or sanctions), Tanqory may cancel cards, refuse redemption, suspend/refund where permitted, and report to authorities. Payments tied to fraud/phishing/illicit card acquisition are void and may be denied without refund. Customers must provide accurate information and not evade checks; non‑compliance may result in suspension of card and related accounts.
- AML/CTF and sanctions: Tanqory/issuers apply per-person and per-day/month limits, source-of-funds checks, and identity verification for high-value or unusual transactions. Cards may not be purchased/used by or for sanctioned parties, prohibited countries/regions, or for embargoed transactions. Tanqory may block, freeze, or refund (where permitted) transactions failing screening, and will report suspicious activity to authorities.
- Thresholds and monitoring: Additional KYC may be required above published limits; attempts to circumvent (structuring) are prohibited and may trigger suspension.
8) Taxes, law, and local regulations
Prices exclude taxes/fees required by law; buyers/holders are responsible for applicable taxes. Some countries/states cap values, restrict currencies, or require partial cash‑outs (e.g., certain U.S. states at low balances). Tanqory will comply with consumer/gift card rules in applicable jurisdictions and may adjust card format/use limits accordingly. If these terms conflict with mandatory law, the law prevails.
- Tax/VAT/GST treatment: Unless stated “tax inclusive,” purchase prices exclude VAT/GST/sales tax; any applicable tax will be shown at checkout/invoice per local law. In many jurisdictions, issuance/redemption of closed-loop cards is VAT/GST exempt; if different rules apply, Tanqory will disclose and collect as required.
- FX and invoicing: Where cross-currency redemption is allowed, FX follows processor rates and may include third-party fees; no Tanqory margin is added unless disclosed. Local invoicing (e.g., VAT/GST invoices) is provided where legally required.
- Regional constraints: Some regions restrict currency/use; Tanqory may limit issuance/redemption to comply with local rules and will publish region-specific notices.
9) Changes to terms
Tanqory may update these terms to reflect legal changes, security measures, or service changes and will give reasonable notice via https://legal.tanqory.com or subscribed channels. If changes materially affect cardholder rights, advance notice and effective date will be provided. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10) Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by Singapore law, respecting mandatory consumer rights in your country. Disputes are resolved by arbitration in Singapore under SIAC Rules, in English, before one arbitrator, unless consumer law mandates otherwise. This choice of law/arbitration does not waive non‑waivable consumer rights.
11) Privacy and personal data
Purchasing/using cards may require processing personal data (e.g., name, email, address, payment info) for issuing cards, identity checks, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and customer service. Collection/use/disclosure/transfer follows the Privacy Policy and DPA (if applicable). Cardholders have rights under law (access/rectification/erasure/objection, etc.) and can contact dpo@tanqory.com to exercise them as permitted.

- Tanqory gift cards are closed‑loop (Appendix C): a card is redeemable only at the store that issued it, in the regions where that store sells. There is no separate list of participating stores.
- Where a law requires a published threshold, timeline or process for vouchers or gift instruments, Tanqory publishes it on these terms or the help pages; changes take effect upon posting.
Appendix C: Authorized issuers/processors
- Tanqory issues closed‑loop digital gift cards directly. The issuer is Tanqory Inc., c/o Harvard Business Services, Inc., 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, USA.
- Tanqory does not currently engage a third‑party U.S. gift card program manager. If Tanqory later engages any third‑party issuer or processor (e.g., for U.S. state unclaimed‑property compliance or for an open‑loop product), it will publish the third party's legal name, address, and license here and on the gift card purchase page before any sale uses that issuer.
- For any region requiring a licensed e‑money or stored‑value issuer, Tanqory will name that licensed entity and license number here and on the purchase page before issuing cards in that region.
